We are very pleased with Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions and the work they completed for us. We opted for the 14X16 Pavilion to be used for our outdoor kitchen and lounge area, The Pavilion joins the pool area to our patio. It was painted to match the trim on the house and topped off with a black metal roof. The ceiling of the Pavilion was stained with a pecan stain that our salesman suggested, and we are very pleased with the results.

In May 2023, Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions built a pavilion over my existing backyard patio. I am well beyond satisfied with the pavilion Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions build. I have enjoyed this structure all summer and know that I will enjoy it for many years to come. The end result far exceeded my expectations.

From my initial contact with owner John O’Brien back in March, all members were outstanding. All of my questions were answered promptly, the permit process went smoothly, and great suggestions were made regarding options and stain color.

Once construction started, carpenters Levi and John (not the owner) were terrific. The cement piers were poured on Monday, and construction took place over 2 ½ days later in the week. Levi and John are very skilled carpenters and worked very hard on my project. They put in 2 very long days, and returned for a few hours on Friday to add the corner braces. As they worked, I was impressed that they never looked at a blueprint or plan!

Coincidentally, my neighbor had a gazebo built at the same time my pavilion was being constructed. After seeing the finished product in my yard, he said he wished he had hired the same crew that I did!

We worked with Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions as part of our backyard transformation project. They designed and built a beautiful custom cedar pavilion for us.

The design and estimate process was quick and easy to understand what options were available and what the end product was going to be. I gathered various quotes on different pavilion options and Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions was very competitive for what you got – especially when you start comparing the type and size of lumber to others. They use top quality materials throughout – wood, paint, roofing, and stain.

The actual build of the pavilion was also a fantastic experience. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, easy to work with, and cleaned up along the way. Craftsmanship was top-notch, meaning the entire structure was trimmed out nicely, numerous coats of paint and stain applied, as well caulking on all seams and gaps for a flawless end result.

He talked us through the different options and what he thought would work best for our space. We had a formal quote the next day, Wednesday, and by Monday morning the team was here to build our pergola! They were professional, kind, and respectful. They called us at decision points (height, number of privacy panels, etc.) to come take a look and ensure we were comfortable with the decisions we made. By Wednesday night, we were enjoying dinner on our roof. For a personalized consultation, he suggested a specific color (Behr Slate) outside of our already narrowed-down choices of color stains as it would compliment our patio and we actually went with his suggestion. We were pleased to find out that they were going to build and install our pergola the later that week.

I met the install team of Levi and John (another John). We went through all the build details such as the locations of the center of the footings, suggested pergola height, spacing, etc. They are highly-skilled carpenters and work very efficiently as they completed our pergola in a day. Lastly, these gentlemen were extremely respectful of my property as well as the property of my neighbors as they were very thorough with their cleanup. John responded very quickly to my inquiry about installing a pergola on our garage deck, which is south facing so gets crazy intense sun. He provided several options together with pictures, and came within a week to inspect our garage deck to verify what options worked.

The foreman, Levi, was on time, polite, professional and the crew worked quickly, but carefully. My wife is a structural engineer and was curious about the whole process. The crew was happy to work with her and answer all questions.

The final product is awesome. The quality of the wood is clearly high, the shade provided is excellent, even in the hottest part of the day, and the price was (by far) the best quote we got. It’s hard enough to get contractors to respond to emails and get quotes. This was next level great service.

After the construction was done, John followed up to make sure everything was to our liking and asked for suggestions of how to improve their service. I struggle to come up with suggestions, but I *love* that he asked. This is the sign of a good business – always looking to be better.

We had two pergolas built – one over our house deck and another carport pergola. Very impressed as the work was professionally completed by Levi and Jaime in less than a week! John and Levi were also quite responsive to our initial concern with the placement of two of our tiers. They came out very early the next morning to explain the situation to our complete satisfaction. John is the initial point person and he leaves it up to his crews to do the work – although they speak a lot during the construction to ensure the work crew is spot on as to our design requests. CP&P, *** was extremely easy, accommodating, and timely to deal with via phone, They 1st got back to me within 12 hours after requesting info. Next, they were able to come out for a home estimate within days. Soon after we received the quote when **** said he’d have it by. IMO it was completely fair pricing, plenty of decorative/building options with pictures, and a detailed plan on how they’d build our pergola and length of the project. If it wasn’t for the uncooperative weather, they would’ve completed the project in the 1.5 days. The crew who built the pergola were nothing less than exceptional because, they were very communicative in their steps and answers all questions. John was very communicative and responded quickly from the get go. I contacted many other places with pictures and details and while some had not responded or responded days after with something completely different, John responded within a few hours and scheduled his free consultation. He was very knowledgeable, listened to our needs and worked within our budget. When the builders John (a different one) and Matt came out, they did the job in less than 3 days even with us being on the 3rd floor roof which was impressive in its own right.

I came across Chicagoland Pergolas on Facebook and reached out to John who was extremely responsive. He was quick to book an appointment to come round and provide a quote. He was helpful giving advice and providing amendments to quotes upon request.

After getting some other quotes back we chose Chicagoland due to their responsiveness and ability to get the job done much quicker than their peers, and without a surcharge for bringing materials to a third floor walk up. We also liked that they use high quality cedar and have a wide variety of stains.
